Calgary, Alberta – August 2025 – KhambaGroup Inc., a leading Canadian multi-industry conglomerate, has announced a $10 million investment in a state-of-the-art Solar Innovation Hub. This strategic move reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to sustainability, clean energy, and technological advancement.

A New Era for Renewable Energy in Canada

The Solar Innovation Hub, set to be located in Southern Alberta, will serve as a research, development, and production facility dedicated to next-generation solar technology. The project aims to advance high-efficiency solar panels, energy storage systems, and smart grid integration.

Kam Khamba, CEO of KhambaGroup, expressed his vision for the project:

“This investment is not just about building solar panels—it’s about creating a cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable future for Canada and beyond. Our Solar Innovation Hub will be a place where brilliant minds collaborate to solve the world’s most pressing energy challenges.”

Key Features of the Solar Innovation Hub

  • Cutting-edge R&D Labs – Equipped for developing advanced photovoltaic technologies.

  • Pilot Production Facility – For rapid prototyping and small-scale manufacturing of solar modules.

  • Training & Education Center – Providing specialized programs for engineers, technicians, and renewable energy entrepreneurs.

  • Community Integration Programs – Partnering with local governments, universities, and businesses to foster sustainable adoption.

Economic and Environmental Impact

The $10M investment is expected to create over 150 skilled jobs in Alberta during the construction and initial operation phases. More importantly, it will help reduce carbon emissions by accelerating Canada’s transition to renewable energy sources.

The facility is projected to generate 50 megawatts of clean energy annually, enough to power more than 10,000 homes while offsetting approximately 35,000 metric tons of CO₂ emissions per year.

Supporting Canada’s Climate Goals

This project aligns with Canada’s net-zero emissions target by 2050 and KhambaGroup’s own Sustainability Goals, which include achieving net-zero operations by 2035 and ensuring all packaging and materials used across their industries are 100% recyclable by 2027.

Looking Ahead

Construction on the Solar Innovation Hub is scheduled to begin in early 2026, with full operations expected by late 2027. KhambaGroup plans to collaborate with technology startups, research institutions, and government agencies to ensure the hub becomes a global leader in solar energy innovation.
